چکیده

In this paper, theoretical derailment equations for cross-wind with frequency were derived to assess running safety. For a KTX (Korean high-speed train) unit, the wheel unloading ratios, which are criteria evaluating derailments in UIC (International union of railways) and TSI (Technical Specification Interoperability) regulations, calculated through formula under driving regulations according speeds, results compared evaluated multibody dynamics (MBD) simulation. addition, ratios various frequencies cross-winds. As result MBD, shown increase rapidly regardless dampers suspension when natural vehicle agreement. Finally, we changes ratio different track gauges found that these could calculate more accurate than existing Kunieda’s formula. The study has advantage considering variables, such as fluctuant cross-winds, rail irregularities, behaviors, not considered previous studies or It be used setting suspensions railway specifications initial design stage.

Indirect frequency measurement of cable-stayed bridges in cross winds

In conventional bridge health monitoring, a number of sensors are deployed on a bridge directly for detecting its various dynamic properties. This is so called “direct method”. But the drawbacks of the direct method are: laborious deployment of sensors, time-consuming, and not portable. Following the previous Yang’s works (2004) in indirect method by using a passing test vehicle as a message re...

Winds of Main-Sequence Stars: Observational Limits and a Path to Theoretical Prediction

It is notoriously difficult to measure the winds of solar-type stars. Traditional spectroscopic and radio continuum techniques are sensitive to mass loss rates at least two to three orders of magnitude stronger than the Sun’s relatively feeble wind. Much has been done with these methods to probe the more massive outflows of younger (T Tauri) and older (giant, AGB, supergiant) cool stars, but th...

Theoretical considerations on colliding clumped winds

First attempts are made to derive astrophysical implications of the collision of clumped stellar winds from order of magnitude estimates and preliminary numerical simulations. Compared to colliding smooth winds, we find that the most significant differences occur in widely separated systems like WR 140. Clumped winds de-stabilize the wind-wind interaction zone of such systems. Highly compressed...

High-frequency P-wave seismic noise driven by ocean winds

[1] Earth’s background vibrations at frequencies below about 0.5 Hz have been attributed to ocean-wave energy coupling into the ground and propagating as surface waves and P-waves (compressional waves deep within the Earth). However, the origin and nature of seismic noise on land at frequencies around 1 Hz has not yet been well studied. Using array beamforming, we analyze the seismic noise fiel...
